2008 Haiyang International Beach Marathon Competition Rules and Regulations

Time: 09:00 a.m., June 29^th, 2008

Venue: Haiyang, China

IV. Events:

1、Both men's and women's Half Beach Marathon。

2、Both men's and women's 10km Beach。

V. Route Chart:

1. Half Beach Marathon

From East To West: Phoenix Square(the start)-> Towards the West along beach-> Towards the North from 200m East from the Estuario of Dongcun River(the retracing point)-> Into Binhe Road of Wetland Park until  Binhai Road->Turning left and Towards the East at Binhai Road -> Towards the East along Phoenix Road until Dongfeng Road->Turning right to Haibin Road-> Towards the West along Haibin Road, and then into the Sand Sculpture Park->Turning left into the Sand Sculpture Groups of Sand Sculpture Park at its western entrance ->Towards the East across the Sculpture Groups->Through wooden plank road to the canvas of Bathing Beach->Towards the East after into the beach->To Phoenix Square(the finish)。

2. 10km Beach

Phoenix Square(the start)-> Towards the West along beach-> Towards the North from 200m East from Xiaohaikou Estuario(the retracing point)-> Towards the East along southern subsidiary road of Wetland Park->Into the Sand Sculpture Park from its western entrance ->Across the Sand Sculpture Park->To eastern flood-discharge outlet of the Sand Sculpture Park->Merging into the beach->To Phoenix Square(the finish).

VI.Entry Rules:

1. Age requirement:

(1)Participants in Half Beach Marathon should be over 18 years old (born before June 29th, 1990).

(2) Participants in 10km Beach should be over 15 years old (born before June 29th, 1993).

2. Health Requirement:

All participants shall be physically healthy and often conducting running practice or obtaining running training. Participant is advised to register in the race upon his/her own physical condition and training status. People who fall into the following categories are advised NOT to participate in the marathon competition:

(1) Those with congenital heart disease and rheumatic heart disease

(2) Those with hypertension and cerebrovascular disease

(3) Those with myocarditis and other heart disease

(4) Those with serious coronary artery disease and serious arrhythmia

(5) Diabetics with hyperglycemia or hypoglycemia

(6) Others not suitable for sports

3. Registration Rules:

（1）Both individual and team registration for the race will be accepted. Besides a copy of the ID card and health certificate drawn by county-level (or district-level) hospital or higher, all individual applicants are required to fill in the Entry Form. Team registration can be made through organizations including provincial or municipal governments, schools, armies, enterprises, clubs, associations etc, and is requested to fill in the Entry Form for Team Registration with the official seals of the organization and attaching individual Entry Forms of team members. Both individual and team registration can download the Entry Form from the 3^rd Asian Beach Games Official Website or get them from Registration Sites designated by Haiyang International Beach Marathon Organizing Committee.
　 （2）Participants who have registered in Chinese Athletic Association can contact Haiyang International Beach Marathon Organizing Committee directly. Professional athletes can enjoy free registration charges and free accommodations during their competition in Haiyang.

(3)  The competition entry number should be limited in 2,000 (Half Beach Marathon and 10km Beach can accept 1,000 entries respectively), and the entry will stop when the entry limit is met.
　 4. Registration Charges:

Different standards of registration charge will be fixed upon different time phases and different objects, but the registration charges will not be returned after registration.

(1)Charge standard for registration during the day of delivering the rules & regulations and June 8^th, 2008:

①Domestic entries (including Hongkong, Macau and Taiwan): RMB30.00 per person.

②Overseas entries: USD 30.00 per person.

(2) Charge standard for registration during June 9^th and 12 O’clock of June 18^th, 2008:

① Domestic entries: RMB100.00 per person.

② Overseas entries: USD 100.00 per person.

The Organizing Committee has the right to decide upon conditions whether to accept their entries or not.

5. The runners (or teams) should bear their charges about traffic, accommodations etc by themselves.
   6. Registration location:

(1). Entries from overseas, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan and from domestic cities can make registration in the following authorized travel agencies:
